Music instruments

A music instrument is a device constructed or modified for the purpose of making music. The term music instrument, however, is generally reserved for items that have a specific musical purpose such as a piano. In principle, anything that produces sound can serve as a musical instrument. Different country has different music instruments, I mainly introduce Chinese music instruments.

The guzheng, one of Chinese music instrument, originated over 2300 years ago and is one of the oldest plucked instruments in China. Because of its melodic qualities, the Guzheng was a extremely popular music instruments for both court and folk music. Guzhengs have become the instruments of choice for concert performances for many professional guzheng players, students, educators and music suppliers. Pipa is a four-stringed music instrument with 30 frets and pear-shaped body. This music instrument history can be dated back at least 2,000 years and developed from pentatonic to full scales. This instrument has extremely wide dynamic range and remarkable expressive power. Sanxian, a long necked music instrument with three strings without frets. A piece of plectrum is used to play the instrument. This music instrument is often used for accompanying folk songs and local opera. Konghou is one of the most ancient Chinese music instruments that appeared in written texts of the Spring and Autumn period. The structure of the konghou looks similar to the harp. Unfortunately not much of this ancient music instrument has been preserved. Jing-Hu: Principally used as accompanying instrument for Beijing Opera. The pitch of Jing-Hu is the highest among all music instruments of the Hu-Qin family.

In China, music instruments are classified according to the material, not according to the generated sound or the construction method like in the West. Traditionally, there exist eight different types of instruments. The correlation includes music instruments. Bamboo flutes are used when the spring begin, summer is the time of string instruments, bronze bells are the instruments of the autumn, and in wintertime, drums are sounding.
